Murder, She Wrote actor Ron Masak has died aged 86, has family have confirmed.
Just over a week after the tragic passing of the show's front-runner Angela Lansbury, the Sheriff Mort Metzger star has 'died from natural causes'.
Known to some as the 'King of Commercials' for his voiceover work, Ron was surrounded by his family, including six children and his wife Kay, when he died on Thursday, a statement read.
He appeared in more than 40 episodes of Murder, She Wrote between 1985 and 1996 and it was in the 80s and 90s he recorded several adverts for brands such as Vlasic pickles and Rice-A-Roni.
He is survived by his wife, Kay, their six children and 10 grandchildren.
Ron also appeared on several TV shows in the 60s and 70s, including The Twilight Zone, Bewitched, Wonder Woman, Get Smart and I Dream of Jeannie.
He also appeared in around 25 feature films, including Ice Station Zebra, Second Effort, A Time for Dying, Evel Knievel, The Benchwarmers and more.
According to his IMDb page, he was also working on some upcoming films, namely The Curse of the Gorgon and Quigley 2 which are both in pre-production.
He's also known for his work at several charity events over the years, including work for Wounded Warriors, Child Help, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and many more.
His tragic passing comes just nine days after the death of star of stage and screen Angela Lansbury aged 96 on Tuesday (October 11).
Angela's children announced the actress had died peacefully at her home in Los Angeles last week, just five days before her 97th birthday.
"The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, just five days shy of her 97th birthday," her family said in a statement.
"In addition to her three children, Anthony, Deirdre and David, she is survived by three grandchildren, Peter, Katherine and Ian, plus five great grandchildren and her brother, producer Edgar Lansbury.
"She was proceeded in death by her husband of 53 years, Peter Shaw. A private family ceremony will be held at a date to be determined."
The actress was best known as amateur detective Jessica Fletcher in Murder, She Wrote. She played Jessica from 1984 until 1996.
