A murder investigation has been launched after a 60-year-old man died following an assault in Maida Vale.
The victim was found by police on patrol along Chippenham Road at 02.40am on Thursday, May 14.
Officers provided emergency first aid on the 60-year-old man who was found with severe injuries.
He was later taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service where he died today.
The victim has now been named by Met Police as Michalis Kyriacou.
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, of the Met's Specialist Crime Command, said: "Our thoughts are with Michalis' family and friends following this tragic news.
"We also want to reassure the local community that specialist officers are working hard to put together an exact picture of what took place."
His family are being supported by specialist officers.
A man who was known to the victim was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Sunday, May 17.
Biniam Tewolde Negash, 36, was charged with attempted murder on the same day.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court Monday, May 18 where he was remanded into custody.
The Crown Prosecution Service has been informed of Michalis' death.
