POLICE are investigating an attempted murder after an attack which left a man fighting for his life in Paisley.
The 24-year-old was found with life-threatening injuries on Stock Street at 9pm on Saturday night.
Police said they believe the attack to be targeted.
The victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow by ambulance for treatment.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Jason Buxton said: “I want to reassure the public that this appears to have been a targeted attack however it is vital we find out exactly what happened so we can trace the person responsible.
“I would urge anyone who saw what happened, who has dashcam footage of the area at the time or who has any information about the attack to get in touch with police.”
