Mumbai: Two delivery boys held for replacing new items

MUMBAI: Two employees of a company that delivered e-commerce products have been arrested for switching brand new goods with used products.

A Qureshi (47) and R Yadav (30) were also accused of selling the new products for making a quick buck.

The company handles deliveries in Kandivli-Andheri belt for an e-commerce giant that has its warehouse in Bhiwandi. On June 17, Qureshi was to deliver a TV set to the Malwani residence of Hussain Shaikh. But Shaikh was not at home and told Qureshi over the phone to bring back the box the next day.

On June 18, Yadav was assigned delivery but could not get Shaikh at home and got the product back. Yadav went a second time when Shaikh canceled the purchase. The box was sent back to the e-commerce giant. On July 29, the e-commerce giant sent an email to the company that there was a problem with two products, which were replaced by old items.
