Mumbai: July rainfall nears 1,000mm-mark; first lake overflows, stock hits 56%

MUMBAI: As heavy downpour continues to pound Mumbai and its adjoining areas, July rainfall is already inching closer to the 1,000-mm mark. The city has already crossed the average rainfall for the month-855.7mm. Till Wednesday evening, the IMD Santacruz observatory recorded 996mm of rainfall in July.

In the neighbouring Thane district, Modak Sagar lake in Shahapur taluka started overflowing on Wednesday afternoon.
