Mumbai will bid farewell to Lord Ganesha on Friday, September 25, with thousands of idols expected to be taken out for immersion across the city. With large processions heading towards Girgaon Chowpatty, Dadar, Juhu, Versova, Madh and several other immersion points, the Mumbai Traffic Police has announced widespread road closures, diversions, one-way restrictions and no-parking zones. The restrictions will affect both South Mumbai and the eastern and western suburbs. In several places, roads will be closed only when immersion processions reach the particular stretch.
According to Mumbai police traffic advisory, 84 roads and connecting stretches will be closed to vehicular traffic, while 20 roads will be converted into one-way stretches. Motorists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel through immersion routes and allow extra time for their journeys.
