MUMBAI: A 40-year-old woman who lives on a footpath has accused three men known to her of drugging and raping her under the busy Dadar flyover in broad daylight on Saturday. One of the men has been arrested.
The woman's police complaint states that she was drinking with the three under the flyover in the afternoon when they three took turns to rape her.
The matter was reported that evening when the woman, a ragpicker, had pain in the abdomen and went to KEM Hospital with her husband. She told the doctor she that she had been raped by three acquaintances.
Senior inspector Jitendra Pawar of Bhoiwada police station said that it being a medico-legal case, the doctors referred the matter to the police.
Her statement was recorded and a criminal offence registered. "We have arrested Sanjay Ramrao alias Hatela and are looking for the other two," said the officer.
