MUMBAI: In the wake of a rise in Covid cases in Mumbai, the BMC is looking at increasing testing from 8,000 to 25,000 per day. According to the civic body, the reason for the surge in cases will be made clear once genome sequencing results from the latest round are available.
But having successfully tackled the first three waves of infection, officials said they are gearing up for any unexpected challenge that may be posed during the monsoons.While the first Covid wave began in March 2020, the second started in early 2021.
