Mumbai: BJP demands govt to allow processions for Gudi Padva and Ram Navami

MUMBAI: The BJP once again reiterated its demand to allow shobha yatras and processions during Gudi Padva and Ram Navami.

BJP's Ashish Shelar said the police have imposed curfew from March 10 to April 8 following receipt of information of possible terrorist and anti-national attacks using drones and remote controls.

"It is also the period during which these two Hindu festivals are being celebrated. Why does the government become inactive only when there are Hindu festivals. It must adhere to all security protocols and allow the processions," he said.

Meanwhile, MLC Prasad Lad said he had shaved off his head to protest the government restrictions for celebrating these festivals.
