Mum who mooned crowd at school sports day shares messages men are sending

A mum who mooned crowds of parents after faceplanting the ground at school sports day shared she's having to block men on social media after their unwanted messages.

Katie Hannaford, 36, found fame after a clip of her unfortunate moment was shared across the internet this week. The business owner was running in a parents' race at her eight-year-old's school when she tripped and flashed her underwear.

The incident was caught on camera and has since been viewed countless times - and Katie says she's "loving every minute" of her newfound fame. She says she has even been recognised in her local Tesco, and has received thousands of positive messages - with some sent from as far away as Australia.

However, speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning, she said she is also receiving a lot of unwanted attention. Katie also explained her youngest daughter asked her to take part in Sports Day and she felt she had to do it because she’d done it for her other child.

Katie said, “First of all I thought, ’My god, that was 10 years ago. I was a lot younger, a lot fitter then.’ And I thought, ‘I can’t do it for one and not the other, so I’ll have to say yes.’ But as soon as I said yes, I thought, ‘What on earth are you doing?’”

Describing the moment she fell, Katie said, “It went in slo mo, so I felt it happen but didn’t feel the dress go over my head. It was only afterwards I thought, ‘Oh my God’ and pulled it down, obviously.’" She went on to say her daughter had her head in her hands and said, ‘Mum, only you could have done that!’

She continued: “There were mums in gym kits and I thought, ‘I know I’ll come last’, but I thought I’d at least finish it!’”

Talking about the messages she has received, she added: “I’ve had thousands upon thousands of messages, lots are really supportive saying, ‘Good sport, good mum.’.. There’s been quite a few from guys saying, ‘You’re my kind of girl’, and stuff like that. Blocked!”
