Renfrewshire mum who had double hand transplant to take on North Coast 500

A Renfrewshire mum who lost her hands and lower legs to sepsis is set to complete the North Coast 500 on a second-hand scooter.

Quadruple amputee, Cor Hutton, was the first person in Scotland to have a double hand transplant after contracting the deadly disease in 2013. The mum-of-one had a five per cent chance of survival as she also battled acute pneumonia, before medics performed life-saving surgery.

Cor, from Lochwinnoch, was fitted with prosthetic legs and, in 2019, underwent pioneering hand transplant surgery. She later launched, Finding Your Feet, a charity that helps support fellow amputees.
