A woman was told her cancer was the menopause before she was given just three months to live.
Caroline Guy, 56, experiences a swollen stomach in 2019 but was dismissed by a GP who told her it was likely down to the menopause but in January 2020, she was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer which had spread to her liver and ovaries. She was told this was terminal and she only had three or four months to live.
But the mum-of-two refused to give up hope and after gruelling treatment at Nottingham University Hospitals and surgery for a full hysterectomy and part of her bowel removed, she has been told she is cancer free in what she describes as a "miracle".
