A heartbroken mum said she intended to take legal action over the death of her two-month-old baby following a series of hospital failings.
It comes after a coroner ruled that Iva-Jaylon Champion Weekes could have survived if it hadn’t been for neglect by Royal Stoke University Hospital. The premature baby was born at 24 weeks and six days gestation, weighing just 740 grams and as tiny as a hand. But his mum Jodie Stubbs, from Bouverie Parade, Sneyd Green, said he was getting stronger by the day.
Things took a tragic turn for the worse on April 8 last year when he underwent eye laser therapy to prevent him going blind, reported Stoke on Trent Live.
