Mum reveals how she transformed kitchen for under £50 using £3 bargain and stick-on tiles

A savvy DIY mum has revealed how she transformed her entire kitchen herself for under £50.

The mum has shared a video of the DIY transformation on social media, as people have praised just how "fantastic" and expensive her kitchen now looks.

Chantelle, who is known online as @chantellesaundersx, took to TikTok to give an update on her her home reservation, saying she did everything on a budget.

In a new video, which has gained more than 7,300 likes and 147,000 views, she shared how she upgraded the cupboards, tiles and window, cleaned grout using a £3 and purchased items from Wilko and Argos.

Sharing just how she did it to her 2,200 followers, Chantelle said: “So I thought I’d upload another little DIY video. This one is of my kitchen."

She said that when she started stripping her kitchen, she noticed that many things needed replacing and just how "rotten" it was.

The mum continued to add that there were "smashed tiles, missing tiles" and that "every kitchen cupboard stank."

Chantelle explained that she changed the room up completely.

Her first thought was to change up the walls and windows, before she went in with the details.

She said: “I started by painting the kitchen a light grey colour. You can see the cutting in hadn’t been done but the painting had been started.

“Then I just ordered these cheap blinds," which she explained in the comments were from Wilko and Argos.

"They were, I think, eight quid and ten quid, just to get something up in the kitchen because obviously, I didn’t have any blinds,” she added.

The money-saving mum said that she covered the back door with some white vinyl as "it was yellow and just wasn’t working" for her.

She also said that the kitchen tiles were something that she "could not stand, and then the grout was just so yellow, so I cleaned them over."

She said she only spent £16 on 120 tile stickers on eBay (TikTok/@chantellesaundersx)

She added: “I thought let me try my luck and order two of these grout pens for £3.

“Of course, I do need to regrout them, but they really did do the job. I cannot complain about them at all.

“Then I just decided to order some tile stickers…these were amazing, but I ordered the wrong size.

“You can’t really notice but there’s a couple where I cut them too short, so I do need to change the tile stickers.”

Sticking to a budget and only spending £16 on 120 tile stickers on eBay, Chantelle continued to say that she was "actually very impressed with how the tile stickers come out, along with the worktop.

“So then I got a little more daring and thought, ‘shall I do the kitchen cupboards? Why not?’”

“I’m extremely happy with [it]. I do want to change some of the vases to black, get a nice runner rug, and change the blinds, but yeah, I’m really happy.”

After seeing the incredible job that she did, viewers commented that the update looks "brilliant" and have been left surprised that everything was done on a budget.
