A mum hoping to surprise her son with tickets to his first ever football match has spoken of her devastation after being scammed. Carley Johnson, from Cheshire, said she was desperate to surprise her son Tyler with tickets to his beloved Liverpool take on Arsenal.
The 32-year-old said her son watches every game on TV but has never been to a match. Wanting to surprise her son with the experience of a lifetime, she went on the hunt and found one man selling tickets for £60 on Facebook marketplace.
However, after paying, the scammer suddenly stopped replying to Carley. She told the Liverpool Echo: "They were for sale on a Facebook group and he said he could not go.
