A traumatised young boy has been left too frightened to go upstairs after his mother's car was deliberately set on fire by two masked thugs. Sarah Kemp, 38, from Newport said she and her son, 9, were woken by neighbours thumping on her front door in the early hours of Friday morning as her Audi Q7 was up in flames on the driveway outside their home, Wales Online reports.
The car was completely destroyed by two men who drenched it in petrol, sparking a fire so strong it melted the door and window frames of their home. Sarah says it is likely her house would have went up in flames with her and her son inside if her worried neighbours had not notified her of the incident.
She added how close the flames were in proximity to the gas mains outside her home as the fire began to spread. "The car was torched and the front of the house was all melted," she explained.
