Multiple Strictly Come Dancing's stars break down in tears during live show

Several of the Strictly Come Dancing stars broke down in tears as their routines struck an emotional chord.

Fleur and her partner, Vito Coppola, stormed the ballroom with a samba that won them their highest score of the series so far. Aside from Craig Revel Horwood who gave them a nine, the other judges awarded them back-to-back 10s, meaning they were just one point away from a perfect score.

The routine went down such a treat with Motsi Mabuse that she lept up from her judge's chair, fighting back tears to commend them on their performance. She said: "I'm so proud of you right now. You did your work. You put everything on that dancefloor and that samba deserves absolutely everything."

The compliments from the judges proved too much for Fleur as she was forced to wipe away tears during their commentary. With emotions already running high, Will Mellor was up next who, after his routine, admitted he couldn't even speak because he was so emotional.

He and Nancy Xu performed to the Commodores' Three Times a Lady, Will's late father's favourite song. The Coronation Street actor said his father would sing it to his mother at home and that it was difficult to even rehearse without breaking down.

Following their performance, Will and Nancy struggled to hold back tears as they received their feedback, constantly turning away from the judge's panel. Will thanked everyone for their kind words but wasn't able to chat with Claudia Winkleman upstairs as he was still recovering from the routine.

Speaking through tears of her own, Nancy said: "I think he did amazing. We want to dedicate this dance to anyone that lost a loved one."
