The MTV VMAs are here and as ever the stars have decided it's a chance to 'go big or go home' in their choice of wardrobe attire.
The star-studded event is being held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and has many stars making their own unique statement on the red carpet. As well as the outfits, the performances are to be just as eye-catching with the likes of Drake, Billie Eilish and Harry Styles taking to the stage to strut their stuff.
Among those making their presence felt straight away on entrance was Lizzo who stunned in an enormously puffy dark blue dress. The singer, 34, looked showcased her voluminous outfit as she - as ever - made sure all eyes were on her.
The statement frock saw the About Damn Time singer rock an off-the-shoulder design while pairing the look with sheer gloves. Her makeup didn't falter either as she donned black lipstick along with a centrally placed lip ring and huge hooped earrings. She wore her hair slicked down her back.
Elsewhere on show Jack Harlow, who is taking up hosting duties alongside LL Cool J and Nicki Minaj, went into the ceremony tied with the most nominations and certainly made sure he looked the part.
He opted for a distinct leather look as he stopped to pose for the cameras. His Matrix-style appearance was completed by pairing a ruched turtleneck with a suit jacket, while also choosing to act 'cool' by wearing a stunning pair of designer sunglasses. He quickly swapped outfits before taking to the stage in a pale green suit with white t-shirt underneath.
And speaking of cool, LL Cool J had a similar fashion sense to the star. The rapper went for the leather look himself, pairing it with his signature shades and black beanie.
Not one to be upstaged he oozed style in eye-catching bling, including a chunky chain around his neck and a diamond ring covering three fingers which read 'Cool J'.
Taylor Swift also shocked her fans by making a surprise appearance. She looked amazing in a sparkly short mesh-like dress paired with her bold red lipstick and was compared to a "real life mirrorball".
Location singer Khalid went for a more colourful look as he styled out an orange and pink Versace number as he flung the peace signs at the onlookers. Teen Wolf actor Colton Haynes also went for the 'bold is beautiful' statement and a flared lime green suit. His Dior offering lacked any under shirt, but fastened perfectly at the side. He finished the look with a pair of black platform boots.
Snoop Dogg was his stylish self too as he donned his usual tracksuit-style attire, big blingy chain and chunky sunglasses.
