Michigan State football picked up a critical win last week in relation to reaching the postseason this year. That win has also placed the Spartans in Brett McMurphy’s latest bowl projections on the Action Network.
McMurphy releases weekly bowl projections based on the results from the previous week. Michigan State had not been included in McMurphy’s previous batches of bowl projections, but this past week’s win over Maryland changed that.
McMurphy has the Spartans heading to the Birmingham Bowl in his latest projection. He has the Spartans playing a familiar face in Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt Panthers in the bowl game.
Michigan State is 2-0 on the season after picking up last week’s road upset win over Maryland. The Spartans will be heavy favorites this week against Prairie View A&M, and should they take care of business and get the win, then they’ll be halfway to bowl eligibility.
