The son of a legendary Michigan State basketball star could be following in his father’s footsteps.
Four-star combo guard Jase Richardson — son of Spartans great Jason Richardson — revealed his top eight schools list on Tuesday, with Michigan State making the cut. Joining the Spartans was Arkansas, Virginia, Stanford, USC, Cincinnati, Alabama and San Diego State.

Richardson is ranked as the No. 7 combo guard and No. 46 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2024 class. He’s also listed as the No. 3 player from Nevada.
Jase’s father Jason played two seasons at Michigan State, helping lead the Spartans to the National Championship in 2000. Jason Richardson went on to play 13 seasons in the NBA.
