Michigan State hockey is going back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in over a decade.
The Spartans received a No. 1 seed in the Maryland Heights Region and will face Western Michigan on Friday evening. The Spartans and Broncos will take the ice at 5 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on ESPNU.
The other matchup in the Spartans’ region is between North Dakota and Michigan. The winners of the two first round matchups will play for a trip to the Frozen Four on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Michigan State won both the Big Ten regular season and conference tournament championships this year. This is the Spartans’ first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2012.
