Mrunal Thakur saunters down the ramp in a stunning red lehenga from Mishru

The glamorous Mrunal Thakur made a showstopping entry wearing a stunning, rich magenta lehenga, choli and dupatta trio, heavily encrusted with tonal 3D floral appliqués for Mishru by Swapna Anumolu at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI.

The label has always presented vibrant feminine collections that have been much loved by women searching for dramatic, celebratory creations. This time it unveiled a striking collection called Form and Feeling at the ongoing which was a beautiful homage to festive wear. Swapna moved into an amazing vocabulary of shapes, colours and forms that took inspiration from such diverse personal aspects like nature, memories and feelings.

There was a distinct surreal feeling of fantasy that enveloped the very natural, organic patterns. These were imaginatively scaled, distorted and styled to present a line of garments that brought forth a sense of immense glamour.

Moving onto a more experimental path for her new surface ornamentation, which was a clever departure from the existing forms, Swapna worked on a micro level of design that evoked a sense of delicate yet strong balance in her creativity.

Mishru’s bridal and formal wear moved graceful through a grand expo of lehengas, cholis, dupattas, saris, gowns, cocktail wear, along with fusion classics. There was a fluid, dreamlike quality in the ensembles that were in rich, vibrant hues with the most lavish embellishments that highlighted the silhouettes.

The four men’s wear creations were restricted to formal kurtas, bundgala jacket and bundies worn with narrow pants in shades of white, neon green and black.

The ‘Mishru’ label by Swapna Anumolu called “Form and Feeling” was all about fashion that not only evoked the right style directions but also ensured that the buyer was enveloped in a feeling of pure glamour.

Swapna Anumolu added, “The collection was inspired by nature’s abstract forms and feelings it evokes in you. Extremely thrilled to have got to showcase my collection after the pandemic, having this physical show experience was really fulfilling.”
