Family favourite Mrs Brown's Boys will be returning for four episodes in 2023 after the much-loved Christmas Day special airs tomorrow.
Creator Brendan O'Carroll, 67, who stars as the hilarious Agnes Brown, explained how filming was delayed due to a Covid backlog - meaning that fans wouldn't be able to get their fix of the feel-good show.
According to Brendan, the BBC was "adamant" that they would get four episodes and started to book out studios for 2023 so they could kick start filming again.
After the pandemic, there was a rush to book venues for shows to film - which meant some programmes had to put things on hold.
Speaking about how the show has become a tradition for many families at Christmas time, he said he gets "goosebumps" just thinking about it.
Speaking to The Sun 's TV magazine, he said that the mini-series to celebrate 100 years of the BBC.
The Irish actor said: "I absolutely love it - I get goosebumps that Mrs Brown has become part of Christmas."
"That's what people who come to the show say - 'Ah, it wouldn't be Christmas without Mrs Brown'. You're kinda going 'Oh my God, we established that'".
He said that when he was younger it was always Morecambe and Wise that would be on the TV at Christmas.
Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas special will air on BBC One at 10.25pm after EastEnders.
The episode will be titled "Shining Mammy" and the synopsis reads: "It's Christmas in Finglas once again, and this year Cathy has a new boyfriend, Boris.
"A last-minute change of plans leaves Agnes babysitting the widower's twins while he and Cathy head to Foley's for a quiet, romantic drink.
"Not everyone is convinced he's right for Cathy, and there are even suspicions that he might be a vampire.
"But it's not Boris that Agnes is worried about; she has her own concerns over his creepy twins."
A second 2022 special will be aired on New Year's Day at 10pm, called "Mammy's Hair Loom".
The synopsis explains: "Suspicion surrounds Cathy's creepy boyfriend, Boris.
"Buster and Dermot are convinced he is a vampire and hatch a plan to save Cathy, which leaves her mortified.

"Sharon has boyfriend troubles of her own, and Father Damien has been called away to tend to some depressed chickens.
"Meanwhile, Buster convinces Agnes she should have her antique vase valued. Who knows how much it could be worth?
"After all, it has been handed down through generations, and she plans to leave it to Cathy as her inheritance."
