Mpox: WHO renames monkeypox amid racism and stigma

WHO World Health Organisation Disease

The World Health Organisation will rename monkeypox after “racism and stigmatising language” emerged following the latest outbreak.

The international health body said the disease will be referred to as “mpox” while the term “monkeypox” is phased out from usage.
