Popcorn buckets have been in vogue ever since Dune's sandworm monstrosity launched an industry of copycats.
While Supergirl will surely go down that same route, it's at least kicking off its merchandise marketing with something a little different: a KFC Krypto bucket.

No, we don't understand the connection either, but the puppy-shaped vessel arrives on June 10 and comes with a limit of "2 per guest", presumably to stop scalpers from filling their boots and selling it online.
Supergirl, starring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, sees Superman's cousin embarking on a revenge quest among the cosmos – with the murderous Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts) in her (laser) sights.
Krypto has been a focal point of the marketing so far, with a Super Bowl-adjacent TV spot putting the focus on Kara meeting Krypto as a puppy on the doomed planet of Krypton.
Obviously, both made it off that world. Krypto even factors into the events of Superman, with David Corenswet's DC hero 'looking after' the dog while Kara was off-world. The more recent Supergirl teasers have revealed the lovable – occasionally naughty – pooch is in mortal danger, however.
Supergirl will be followed next year by Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow, which is now filming. Director James Gunn has unveiled a first look at Lex Luthor's warsuit, while also confirming that the film takes place roughly two years after the events of Superman.
Elsewhere in the DCU, body horror Clayface makes its mark in cinemas this October. Given the recent twin successes of Obsession and Backrooms, we wouldn't rule out the Tom Rhys Harries-starring movie as another surprise hit.
