A motorcyclist has died in hospital hours after hitting a roadside pole at Newton in Adelaide's north-eastern suburbs.
Police said the 33-year-old Newton man collided with the streetlight post about 9:40pm on Friday night.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at the intersection of Newton and Clairville roads, near a local shopping centre.
The man was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital but "sadly died early this morning", police said.
The force of the crash knocked the pole onto the ground.
The man is the 60th person killed on the state's roads this year, compared to 83 at the same time last year.
Earlier this week, a 26-year-old woman died in a crash involving several cars and a B-double truck at Gillman in Adelaide's north-west.
