A woman was left questioning whether or not her spouse had been unfaithful to her while she had been pregnant with their son after a midwife misinterpreted her newborn STI's results. Jenna Barnes, 43, took her newborn baby boy Fletcher to hospital after she became concerned about an infection that had developed in his eyes making them ''gunky and stuck together''.
The baby had tests to find out the reason behind the issues and Jenna claims a midwife wrongly told her he had been diagnosed with sexually transmitted disease, gonorrhoea, the Mirror reports. Panic stricken Jenna says she was informed the STI would have been passed on from a parent before her son was born which left her suspicious that her husband Chris, 45, who is a frontman for a tribute rock band, had been cheating on her while he was out on the road.
The mum-of-four, who knew she had definitely not been disloyal to her husband, confronted Chris about the situation who also insisted that he had not committed infidelity either. Thankfully before the pair broke up or consulted divorce lawyers, a flustered midwife revealed they'd given Jenna the wrong results - and Fletcher did not have gonorrhoea.
