Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing fans have shared their excitement online after the BBC duo posted a snapshot of themselves filming a new series of the show. Taking to Twitter on Monday (June 21), Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse tweeted an image of themselves in full fishing gear next to a river bank, with the caption "And we're away... #gonefishing" - hinting at the filming of their new series.
The post has already been retweeted by hundreds of people and has been liked more than 22,000 times, with masses of excited fans taking to the comment section to express their anticipation for the upcoming new series. @debsj1104 replied: "Yay!!! Can't wait to see what you get up to."
@AndAllyson posted: "Can't wait to watch the new series, a lovely bit of escapism. Love the banter and Ted of course."

Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing is a multi BAFTA-nominated show that first aired on BBC2 in 2018. Despite its title, it is not entirely about fishing.
In each episode comedians, Bob, 63, and Paul, 64, spend a couple of days by the river in pursuit of that week's target fish. Whilst fishing they meditate on life, friendship, and death and help each other get over treatment for nearly fatal heart problems: three stents for Whitehouse and a triple bypass for Mortimer.
