Morrisons, Waitrose and Asda warnings as customers asked to return pasta and fish

Shoppers have been urged not to eat certain pasta and fish items from leading supermarkets.

They should instead return the products and will be offered a full refund. You will not need a receipt for a refund, just the item that is being recalled.

Items tend to be recalled due safety concerns, in this case due to a mislabelling mistake and a possible microbiological contamination risk. According to the Food Safety Agency (FSA) when an item is recalled you should return it to the store it was bought from and should not consume it.

The stores affected in these rounds of recalls are Asda, Morrisons and Waitrose, according to the Liverpool Echo. The products include pasta bakes and different types of sardines.

Here are the items that are being recalled and what you should do if you happen to have them in your kitchen.

Asda

Asda Italian Inspired Chicken and Bacon Pasta Bake (FSA)

Asda is recalling Asda Italian Inspired Chicken and Bacon Pasta Bake because it contains mustard, which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard.

Product details

Asda Italian Inspired Chicken and Bacon Pasta Bake

  • Pack size: 400 g and 800 g
  • Use-by dates: 29 July 2022 and 30 July 2022

Asda is recalling the above product from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tells them what to do if they have bought the product.

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to mustard, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
