Mormon Wives’ Mayci Calls Out Taylor Frankie Paul’s ‘Cult Followers’: ‘Psychotic Behaviour’

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives drama has officially spilled off-screen (again), and this time it’s Mayci Neeley calling out what she describes as some pretty intense behaviour from Taylor Frankie Paul’s fanbase.

The latest moment comes from Mayci’s “Sinner Sundays”, where she responds to anonymous confessions and questions from followers. One submission touched on the darker side of going viral, admitting they “can’t stand the heat from haters”.

Mayci didn’t sugar-coat her response.

“Unfortunately, it’s part of the job if you want to pursue it as a career,” she wrote. “I got called a ‘baby daddy killer’ last week by one of Taylor’s cult followers, so that’s fun.”

The comment quickly sparked pushback from another follower, who said they were “tired of being called a ‘cult’ follower” just for supporting Taylor, adding they had “NEVER disrespected” Mayci.

Mayci clarified where she draws the line, and it wasn’t about casual support.

“Someone who calls me a ‘baby daddy killer’ bc I defend Mikayla online. That’s psychotic behaviour and I would consider that a cult follower,” she responded.

“I don’t think all followers are cult followers. But if someone is going to bully and harass someone who isn’t on the same page as her? That’s what I would consider a cult follower. So I hope that’s not you.”

The tension doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Mayci has been publicly backing fellow cast member Mikayla Matthews amid her ongoing feud with Taylor, which has played out across social media in recent weeks. That includes Mayci previously stating, “We never begged [Taylor] to be on the show… We advocated for her to be on the show when they were going to cut her bc of her arrest before filming season one.”

She also added, “Mikayla and I have never stabbed her in the back… There comes a point where you have to set a boundary to protect your own mental health.”

Around the same time, fans noticed Taylor had unfollowed Mayci on Instagram — something Mayci said she only learned about after the fact, writing, “This is news to me. I didn’t know this until now.”

For her part, Taylor has addressed claims she “weaponises” her audience, pushing back in a recent video.

“I just wanted to say everything I post is not that deep,” she said. “A lot of it is actually sarcasm… I don’t want to weaponise [my support]. I get very defensive myself… I can recognise that I need to take a step back… we’re here to spread love.”

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season five is currently filming again after production was temporarily halted in March due to legal issues involving cast member Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.

And if the past few weeks are anything to go by, we have a LOT of drama to cover.
