More London Labour councillors defect to Greens as Keir Starmer’s party faces local elections crisis

Two more London Labour councillors have defected to the Green Party, blaming the Prime Minister’s response to conflicts in the Middle East.

The move by Lewisham councillors Tauseef Anwar and Rudi Schmidt means more than 50 Labour representatives have joined the Greens since the 2024 general election.
