A 36-year-old Indian man, a government employee, shared his experience of US tourist visa refusal and explained why it felt more like a humiliation than rejection. The Redditor had to spend a lot of money to travel for biometrics and an interview and was disheartened that all went to waste in 20 seconds. While many Indians are getting rejected because they can't show enough ties to India to allay visa officers' concerns that they might not return to India, the Redditor, in his defense, has a government job in India which he said he has been doing for 14 years. It is not possible for government employees to overstay their visa in any other country as it would be immediately flagged.
