An increasing number of Dundee University students are finding jobs and "positive destinations" after their courses, latest figures show. The findings of the latest Graduate Outcomes survey found that 90 per cent of respondents are now in employment or further study - an increase of 1 per cent.
The survey, co-ordinated on behalf of the UK Higher Education sector, also found that 100 per cent of Scottish-based undergraduates from the class of 2019/20 have entered positive destinations, up from 94 per cent the previous year. Several Schools have also reported significant increases in the number of graduates entering employment or further study, including Art & Design, Business, Dentistry, Life Sciences, and Science and Engineering.
The findings place Dundee favourably against the rest of the sector, where the number of graduates entering positive destinations has dropped to 87 per cent and where response rates to the survey are significantly lower.
Richard Pool, the University’s Employment Engagement Manager, said: “Dundee has always had a fantastic reputation with employers who are looking for talented, motivated recruits.
“Despite the economic challenges created by the pandemic, these results show that employers continue to value the skills and qualities demonstrated by our graduates.”
And he added: “The survey also shows the value of the University’s Careers Service and the successful role we play in supporting students transition from their studies into the workplace via our Careers Advisors, who provide individual advice and support, and large-scale events such as our Careers Fairs.”
