It offers a first look at the new show - which is based on a character that first appeared in Marvel Comics almost 50 years ago.
What is Moon Knight about and who is in the cast?
The series follows Steven Grant (Isaac), a mild-mannered gift-shop employee who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life.
It emerges Steven has dissociative identity disorder - a mental health condition where the person has multiple, distinct personalities that control their behaviour at different times - and he discovers he shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector.
As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.
The trailer also gives a first glimpse of the show’s villain - who is played by Ethan Hawke and, according to the subtitles, is called Dr Arthur Harrow.
Harrow is shown as some kind of guru - clothed in robes - whose presence makes crowds of people kneel before him. Harrow is also shown talking to Steven - encouraging him to embrace the chaos within.
What is Moon Knight based on?
Moon Knight is based on a character created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin that first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1975.
The character was originally a villain in Werewolf by Night - a mercenary hired to capture the werewolf hero.
But editors liked Moon Knight so much he was given a solo story a year later - which cast him in a more heroic light.
The origin story of Moon Knight is a complicated one that involves dissociative identity disorder and the entity Khonshu - the ancient Egyptian god of the moon - who in the story exists in a realm known as the Othervoid and establishes a psychic connection with Marc/Steven to act as an avatar on Earth.
Is Moon Knight a movie or series and when does it start?
