Montana man impales himself on trekking pole after he slips. Then walks down 10 miles from Montana’s tallest mountain to reach the ambulance

A Montana man has had a brush with death after slipping during a hike, impaling himself on his trekking pole, then walking 10 miles to reach an ambulance.

David Cifaldi, of Billings, Montana, was trekking with friends on the state’s highest mountain, Granite Peak, and was close to the summit when he slipped on a rock. As he told CBS News Affiliate KVTQ, “by the time I rolled over, I kind of knew something wasn’t right.”
