Monster Hunter Wilds is getting its next major update on Feb. 18. The patch 1.041 launches with 10-star Arch-tempered hunts, an anniversary login pack, weekly Festival of Accord reruns, new event quests, a Stories 3 crossover, and a tease of a large-scale expansion.
The biggest gameplay addition is Arch-tempered Arkveld, arriving as a permanent Event Quest. The update is also extending the 10-star Arch-tempered tier to the four apex predators of each locale: Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad.
For players chasing endgame difficulty, the update is also setting up a high-difficulty Free Challenge Quest built around a 10-star hunt-a-thon structure tied to the new Arch-tempered lineup. A Free Challenge Quest focused on Arch-tempered Arkveld is also scheduled to run from March 19 to March 31.
The anniversary event begins alongside the update and runs for roughly a month. Logging in during the event window grants a free special item pack, plus one Character Edit Voucher and one Palico Edit Voucher.
The celebration also recycles previous Festival of Accord seasonal events on a weekly rotation: Blossomdance (Feb. 18-25), Flamefete (Feb. 25-March 4), Dreamspell (March 4-12), and Lumenhymn (March 12-19). This is great for anyone who has missed any of the previous seasonal events.
The update also adds rewards tied to community designs. The winning entries from the Original Weapon and Pendant Design Contest can be earned through the Event Quest Every Hunter’s Dream, with the weapon and pendant available as permanent pickups after completion.
There’s also a crossover with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. Completing new side missions unlocks quests focused on egg transport, with rewards including Royal Palico Rudy Costume α Palico gear and Monstie-themed pendants.
Capcom teased that the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds expansion is already in development, with more information planned for this summer.
