Mom stands on vigil in Manipur, son London on diving board

KOLKATA: Hemam London Singh is one of the only two divers from India set to take part in the ongoing Asian Games. Even as he continued to train for the big event at Army Sports Institute (ASI) in Pune, his mother, Jaya Devi, has been taking out peace marches in their village at Moirang in Bishnupur district to make sure there's peace in these troubled times.

"She is part of a group of nearly 200 women who have been taking out pace rallies every night from 8pm to 5am for the past five months. From every locality there would be 20 individuals and they keep vigil together," said London's father Hemam Surchandra Singh during a brief interaction with TOI on Tuesday.
