Molly Mae was originally rejected by Love Island and didn't want to be a bombshell

Molly-Mae Hague has revealed she was initially rejected from Love Island ahead of her appearance in 2019.

The 23-year-old business owner previously signed up the ITV2 reality series in 2018 - one year before finding love in the villa with boyfriend Tommy Fury.

But despite failing to secure a spot on the show, Molly-Mae wasn't prepared to give up on her reality television dreams.

In her new memoir Becoming Molly-Mae, the influencer explains how she turned to manifestation in order to bag herself a place the following year.

In an extract detailed in New! magazine, Molly said: "I just had this overwhelming feeling of I'm going to be on this show.

"Again, that's what I think of when I talk about manifestation, that confidence will carry you through."

However, according to her book, Molly-Mae wasn't entirely happy after being asked to appear as a bombshell during the 2019 series.

The reality star, who previously worked as a social media influencer before her villa stint, shot to fame with boxer Tommy on the show's fifth series.

Molly-Mae has since went on to launch her own fake tanning range, as well being named PrettyLittleThing's UK and EU creative director.

But as her popularity grew, the star made it clear that she wanted to distance herself away from Love Island.

In a previous interview with The Sun, Molly-Mae admitted: "I never wanted to be known as a Love Islander because I felt it closed me off to a lot of other opportunities that I have now explored in the way I distanced myself."

Further opening up about not wanting to be known simply for the show, she added: "I've worked on distancing myself and not just being capped as being known as one thing."

However, it doesn't stop Molly-Mae from catching up on villa drama every now and again.

Last week, the star was spotted tuning into the latest series of Love Island from the comfort of her new home.

Molly-Mae has been showcasing parts of the property on her home Instagram account - despite being targeted by burglars last year in her old Manchester flat.

Following years of hunting for the perfect pad, the pair picked up the keys in April and are currently in the process of renovating.

The contemporary home, which counts footballers Marcus Rashford and Jordan Pickford as neighbours, boasts six bedrooms, dressing rooms and stunning manicured gardens.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Molly-Mae spent her first evening in the couple's plush living room - two months after moving in.
