Molly-Mae Hague has been defended by her fans after sharing a fresh glimpse into her first week as a mum. The former Love Island star and her boyfriend Tommy Furry announced their daughter's arrival into the world earlier this week.
The new parents, who met and fell in love on the ITV2 dating show in 2019, shared their first picture with their baby girl, who they have since confirmed they have named Bambi, on Monday (January 30) and confirmed she made her entrance into the world a week earlier on January 23.
They shared their daughter's birth date alongside a smiling picture of the doting parents holding their bundle of joy while still in the hospital. The sweet black and white snap was simply captioned "23/01/23." It was 24 hours later that Molly-Mae and Tommy, both 23, confirmed their Disney-inspired name for their first child together.
Since then, both influencer Molly-Mae and boxer Tommy have been sharing glimpses of their baby girl with their millions of followers. On Thursday evening (February 2), Molly-Mae cooed after Bambi following her first bath. The star could be seen holding her little one in her arms while she was wrapped up snug in a white towel.
"First bath," she wrote on her Instagram Story before going on to post a picture of her and Bambi having a cuddle in front of a print of the Disney character on their wall. Typing alongisde the image, Molly-Mae wrote: "Mama's girl." And the Pretty Little Thing creative director finished by saying: "I love you," as she shared a third image of her gazing at Bambi as she slept.
But Molly-Mae wasn't done there as she also shared a video of the moment she and Tommy arrived back to their Cheshire home as a family of three. In a YouTube vlog posted last Thursday (January 26), Molly-Mae could be seen packing her bags for the hospital, with fans unaware that the former reality star had already given birth.
In it, Molly-Mae briefly spoke about how she had ditched Cheshire, where she lives with her boyfriend Tommy, to give birth in London. "I made the decision to bring a suitcase.," she said. "I know I'm going to get so many comments like what on earth are you doing, you're packing too much, but I'm giving birth in London.
"I haven't spoken about this yet but I'm having baby girl in London. I'm hoping it will make sense as to why it may look like I'm packing excessively. We decided to have our birth there for privacy reasons and to try and make us feel the most comfortable and secure. The main reason is for privacy."
And in her latest Instagram video, Molly-Mae has shared the sweet moment she carried her daughter into what it now their family home for the first time. The new mum could be seen wearing a tracksuit and Uggs as she stepped cautiously out a minivan, while clutching her tiny bundle of joy close to her chest.
She then walked through the door into the hallway of her luxury £3.5million mansion, where she tenderly kissed and rubbed her daughter's head. The video, presumably being filmed by Tommy, then followed Molly-Mae and Bambi as they entered a different room in the house, before zooming in on one of their cats, who was perched on the arm of a sofa.
She could then be seen taking baby Bambi into her nursery, which had a cuddly toy of Disney deer Bambi in the cot and a large photograph of the character on the wall, as well as large cloud lights hung from the ceiling and a neon sign reading 'Bambi' on the wall.
Molly-Mae emotionally captioned the post: "Bringing the most precious gift in the world home. I cry with happiness every time I watch this video." And Tpmmy was quick to respond as he simply wrote: "My family," with a red heart.
But the post has also been flooded with fans speaking out in Molly-Mae's defence after the price of Bambi's cot was revealed to currently be around £8,000. @tilliedillonn wrote: "I really don't get why people are being so nasty. A baby girl has been born to loving parents that can afford an £8k cot, that liked the name Bambi and that have decorated her nursery white."
They added: "I mean there are so many babies born that are unwanted or abused why when these 2 loving parents have a baby everything that they do or have is criticised. Leave them alone to enjoy there newborn Bubble!"
@rhianj24 shared: "Such a beautiful little baby. Imagine, just imagine two parents who clearly adore their baby, buying her an expensive cot that they can afford, calling her a name that they obviously love (how dare they not re think the name because Susan on instagram doesn’t like it), and they’re now getting slated all over the internet because of the choices they’ve made for THEIR child. Madness, absolute madness. if you don’t like it just keep scrolling."
