Molly-Mae defended as trolls slam new mum for hitting the gym with baby Bambi in tow

Molly-Mae Hague has been defended by her loyal legion of followers after some criticised her for heading to the gym shortly after giving birth.

The Love Island star has made no secret of her love for working out and started getting into her fitness programme and recently claimed her bum had "tripled in size" since welcoming Bambi.

Molly-Mae, 23, gave birth to her first daughter on January 23 and shared the adorable news on social media and just several weeks later, documented that she was working out.

But while Molly-Mae had been embracing her post-partum body, some had hit out at her for not "celebrating her body".

Now, several people have leapt to Molly-Mae's defence with some claiming it's "sad" to see people put the influencer down.

Taking to Twitter, former Love Island winner Amber Gill penned: "??? Delete this."

While one fan commented: "So sad to see women tearing other women down due to jealousy."

"People think once you have a baby you need to cuddle it and hold it 24/7 get real," said a second.

Before a third went on to type: "It's like they are saying you can't enjoy yourself because you have a baby? They once was a person too, just because someone becomes a mother does not automatically mean everything you enjoy needs to be stopped. You can still do things you enjoy and be a loving mother."

Last week, Molly took to her Instagram to share her workout with her millions of fans as she revealed she was "excited" to get back into the gym.

Sharing a mirror selfie, the star penned: "3.5 weeks postpartum. So beyond excited to get my fitness back...

"Never felt so ready to get my body back moving again."

But Molly-Mae explained that she had consulted her midwife before exercising again as she went on to say: "I consulted with my midwife before starting to exercise again.

"The last week I have felt fully recovered and ready to move my body gradually again. Just wanted to clear that up."

According to the NHS website, new mums can ease themselves into gentle exercise, as soon as they feel ready to do so if they had a gentle birth.

The NHS states that it is "usually a good idea" to wait until a mum's six-week postnatal check before taking part in heavy exercises.
