Everton loanee Moise Kean made his first start of the season for Juventus on Sunday evening. But things did not go to plan with the striker labelled ‘the worst’ by Italian media.
Max Allegri’s side drew 2-2 at home to Salernitana in a game that included one of the most dramatic periods of injury-time in recent memory. The Italian giants were 2-1 down before Leonardo Bonucci’s penalty made it 2-2 in the 93rd minute. Substitute Arkadiusz Milik thought he’d scored the winner three minutes later and he was given a second yellow for taking off his shirt in celebration. However, VAR ruled out the goal and Milik's red card stood. That sparked an on-pitch brawl and two more players were also sent off along with Juventus manager Allegri.
But amid all the drama, Kean endured a torrid start to the new season, failing to make any impact apart from earning a yellow card before being hooked at half-time for Milik with Juve 2-0 behind.. Kean was given a 4.5/10 by Gazzetta dello Sport and a 4/10 by Corriere dello Sport on Monday morning - both labelled him as ‘Il peggiore’: the worst.

The former of those two Italian papers branded the 22-year-old as ‘lazy’ and ‘at times irritating’ as the home crowd sarcastically clapped his substitution - they also added that ‘every time Allegri gives him a chance, he wastes it’. Corriere Dello sport added that once again the Italy international ‘throws another opportunity to the wind’.
Kean is into the second year of his two-year loan spell at the Allianz Arena, with Juventus reportedly paying around £6m for the loan and with an obligation to make the deal permanent for around £24m next summer.
