Mogul ace Anthony wins again for Australian cup record

Mogul ski star Jakara Anthony has notched another triumph to set an Australian record for most wins in a World Cup season.

With her eighth victory of the season in the dual moguls in Val St Come, Canada, Anthony eclipses former teammate Britt Cox's seven World Cup wins in the 2016/17 season.

"You dream of coming and skiing World Cup when you are a little kid," Anthony said.

"But to actually be here and be as dominant as I am at the moment is really special."

The 25-year-old from Barwon Heads in Victoria faced Japan's Rino Yanagmoto in the semi-final in what eventuated as her tightest battle of day, winning 21 points to 14.

Anthony then routed American Jaelin Kauf 35-0 in the gold-medal duel, with Kauf crashing in the middle section.

"I made it through each round as it came, I think I did some really good skiing," Anthony said.

"(I) pushed super hard against Jaelin and she went hard as well.

"We put on a good show for everyone and it's nice to go out there and be challenged by the other girls."

Anthony now has 16 World Cup career wins, with another seven events remaining this season.

In the men's event, Australia's 2018 Olympic silver medallist Matthew Graham won his first World Cup medal of the season and 24th of his career, finishing third.

Graham emerged unscathed from a freak accident during his bronze medal race against Ben Cavet when the Frenchman crossed into the Australian's side of the course.

Graham landed on Cavet while completing the top air jump.

"Really happy to walk away from that crash against Ben, probably one of the scariest crashes I have been in," Graham said.

"I just saw him at the last minute and pulled my legs through to try and miss landing on his face essentially."

Fellow Australian Cooper Woods was fifth, a career-best dual moguls finish, with compatriots George Murphy 38th and Oliver Logan placing 40th.
