Moffat officially has the best fire station in Dumfries and Galloway.
A year of fire station audits were carried out by the area management team across the region to gauge each one’s performance against administrative targets aligned to the Station Action Plan and SFRS core values, as well as a practical drill carried out on the night.
This long-standing tradition sees the winner’s name inscribed on a shield – which is a much coveted prize for crews across the region.
And there was stiff competition this year as it was a return of the shield following the restrictions during the last couple of years with the Covid-19 pandemic, with other factors taken into account, such as availability.
