National mocktail week takes place during the second week of January. If you’re not familiar with ‘mocktails’, it tastes exactly like a cocktail - minus the alcohol.
As a lot of people across the UK take part in Dry January - a month where people try not to drink any alcohol, Brits may be missing the taste of their favourite refreshing cocktails.

Why not give these easy recipes a try to improve your dry January.
Nojito
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Small bunch mint
- 3 juiced limes
- Soda water
Muddle the sugar with leaves from the mint using a pestle and mortar. Put a handful of crushed ice into 2 tall glasses. Divide the lime juice between the glasses with the mint mix. Top up with soda water and garnish with a lime wheel.
Shirley Temple
- 1/4 cup of 7Up or Sprite
- 1-1/2 tbsp. grenadine syrup
- Ice
- Maraschino cherries for garnish
Mix together the 7Up and grenadine syrup. Pour over ice and top with cherries.
Alcohol free raspberry margaritas
- 1 cup frozen raspberries
- 2 tablespoon lime juice
- ¾ cup water or orange juice
- Sugar syrup
- Sugar or salt for the rim of the glass
Blend all ingredients together. Add water to your desired consistency. Serve in a rimmed margarita glass and garnish with a lime wheel.
Raspberry, peach and orange cooler
- 1 tin of peaches
- 500g frozen raspberries
- 1 orange
Blend a tin of peaches (including the syrup) with 500g frozen raspberries.
Add the juice of one orange and a drop of water, then blend again.
Pour the cocktail into tall glasses, then garnish with an orange slice.
Pineapple and strawberry spritz
- 30ml strawberry juice
- 15ml lime juice
- 90ml pineapple juice
- Soda water
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake the lime and pineapple juice together.
Strain the contents into a glass over ice.
Top with soda water and float the strawberry juice on top. Garnish with a strawberry.
