Mike Trout and the Angels jumped out to a historic start against the Rockies on Saturday, racking up a jaw-dropping 23 runs in just four innings.
L.A. scored 13 runs in the third inning and followed that up with another eight in the fourth. In doing so, they became the first team in MLB history to score 20-plus runs in a span of two or fewer innings.
The offensive eruption from the Angels turned heads on social media, as the Halos ran up what looked like a football scoreline during their visit to Coors Field. MLB fans and media on social media were stunned by the early beatdown in Colorado, offering up a bevy of reactions to the lopsided score.
