MLB Players Association Settles Lawsuit With Fanduel

MLB: World Series-Texas Rangers at Arizona Diamondbacks

A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit between a commercial affiliate of the Major League Baseball Players Association and FanDuel regarding the unauthorized use of MLB players' names and images on the sports-betting platform. The settlement, as reported by The Associated Press, resulted in MLB Players Inc. and FanDuel agreeing to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice, preventing its refiling.

According to court documents, both parties will be responsible for their own attorneys' fees and costs related to the matter. FanDuel has been removed from the New York lawsuit, which also involved Underdog Sports. It remains unclear whether Underdog Sports has also reached a settlement in this case. The MLBPA has ongoing lawsuits against other online betting platforms.
