The postseason atmosphere at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park has been unmatched by the rest of baseball. And honestly, an underrated reason for that is the Phillies fans’ ability to keep opposing fans from getting tickets. Even large away fanbases like the Braves were generally unrepresented during the NLDS.
So, nobody should have expected much of an Arizona Diamondbacks contingent at all for Games 1 and 2 of the NLCS in Philadelphia. One Phoenix sports reporter learned that the hard way on Tuesday night.
As Fox 10’s Troy Hayden was reporting from Citizens Bank Park ahead of Game 2, the anchors back in Phoenix were expecting the reporter to catch up with some D-backs fans in enemy territory. The problem: He couldn’t find a single D-backs fan after looking for hours.
Oh my god this phoenix news station was trying to find a diamondbacks fan at the Phillies game for an interview, and they looked for TWO HOURS and still couldn’t find anyone

That’s just incredible.
And when you think about it, that all makes sense. The get-in price for the games in Philly were pushing $300, and when you take into account flights, hotels and a potentially hostile home crowd, not many Arizona fans were looking to make that trip. As a relatively new team with no national fanbase, D-backs fans were always going to be tough to find at Game 2.
On the flip side, it might end up being cheaper for Phillies fans to travel to Phoenix (flights, hotel and game tickets at Chase Field) than it would be to purchase secondary market tickets in Philly.
Still, MLB fans thought it was hilarious that a reporter simply could not find one D-backs fan to speak to. Not even one.
