The delayed start of a desert search for a mentally ill man who was later found dead in a gully was due to compounded mistakes by his carer agency and police, a coroner has found.

Kumanjayi Johnson, a 45-year-old Arrente man, died at Mount Gillen, Alice Springs, in early December 2022 after walking away from his supported accommodation at Ironwood.
