Missing X Factor star Levi Davis' mum flies to Spain to help in search for her son

The mother of missing X Factor star Levi Davis will be heading to Spain in the next 24 hours in search of her ‘vulnerable’ son.

Levi was last seen over a week ago leaving the Old Irish Pub in Barcelona on October 29 in CCTV footage obtained by the Mirror. But friends and family have not heard from him since.

His mum Julie Davis made an emotional plea on ITV’s Good Morning Britain (GMB) for him to return.

Now 12 days into the desperate search to locate him, she will be rushing to Spain in a bid to track him down.

Speaking on Tuesday’s GMB she said: “Levi please, if you see this, please get in touch.

“I can’t begin to understand how you’re feeling but just know that I do love you and our family loves you and we just want you home.”

Levi’s sports agent and friend Tom Varndell says that the family has had a “terrible time” coping with his disappearance.

Speaking to the Mirror he said: ““It’s been an awful time. It’s been a horrible few days.

"Julie should be going out there in the next 24 hours. I spoke to the family and they know Levi had his issues and that’s what makes it more frightening.

“The longer this goes on, the more real and the darker it gets because you’re like, ‘where the hell has he gone for 12 days?!’

“To not speak to anybody, any close friends, any family, go on any social media platform, it doesn’t make any sense now.

“Someone who’s feeling down in the dumps and depressed is out there on his own.”

Friends and family launched a social media appeal for him to return.

The CCTV clip obtained by the Mirror showed the 24-year-old winger exiting the Old Irish Pub on the popular Spanish street Rambla dels Caputxins on that same day, at 10.05pm.

In the video, Levi can be seen carrying a small black rucksack, while wearing a white short-sleeved t-shirt, black trousers, and black and white trainers.

The athlete was last heard from over a week ago, after he travelled to Ibiza with a friend. But he then left on a boat to Barcelona by himself on October 29,

Spanish police - Mossos d'Esquadra had previously said they were waiting for the missing persons report to be transferred over to them by UK Police.

They also added that they had found out Levi was missing through news and social media reports.

A spokesperson for Mossos d'Esquadra said: “We opened an investigation for the case. At this moment we don’t have any report of his disappearance.

“We noticed [he was missing] because of the media and on social networks. Then we transferred the information to the investigators and they opened an investigation.”

Tom says that there are now other people in Spain helping to track down Levi as well as the police.

He said: “The police have stepped up their search in Spain. They’ve started their investigation properly.

“English police have been fantastic liasing with the Spanish police and they are doing all the searches, all the checks.

“Hopefully the police can do the investigation and track down where he went after that bar.”
