Missing Wishaw man sparks police investigation

Police are appealing for information to trace a man who vanished from North Lanarkshire.

James Macdonald has been reported missing from the Netherton area of Wishaw. The 40-year-old was last seen at around 1.45pm on Thursday.

He is described as five feet, eight inches tall and of a regular build with black hair. When last seen he was wearing a black t-shirt, black jogging bottoms, black trainers and a black rucksack.

Lanarkshire Police Division released a statement alongside a photograph of James as part of their investigation. Anyone who might have seen James since Thursday or those with information that could help find him are asked to come forward.

The police statement read: "We are appealing for the public’s help as part of our efforts to trace 40-year-old James Macdonald who has been reported missing from the Netherton area of Wishaw. James was last seen at around 1.45pm on Thursday, July 7 .

"He is descried as five feet, eight inches tall and of a regular build with black hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black jogging bottoms, a black rucksack and black trainers.

"Anyone who may have seen James since this time, or who has any information which may assist us with enquiries, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident 2732 of July 7, 2022."
